Jeanne Coons, 73, of 152 Westminster Drive, W.E., died at 6:04 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 21, 2003) in WCA Hospital. A native of Jamestown, she was born May 1, 1930, the daughter of John and Ruth Connor Munson. She was the wife of Carlyle L. ''CC'' Coons, whom she married in September 1976 in Canandaigua, N.Y. Mrs. Coons was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, painting and entertaining, having people for lunch and good fellowship. She was also devoted to the National Alzheimer's Program Global Research and Consulting, a volunteer testing program. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: David B. Stromgren of Cantonment, Fla., and Daniel R. Stromgren of Canton, N.Y.; five grandchildren: Michael and Christopher Stromgren, Sabrina Harvell, Jason Stromgren and Kristen Soler; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Shirley Christofferson of Leesburg, Fla., and Phyllis Hewes of Hamburg. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Donald V. Erickson, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be held at the columbarium at Sunset Hill Cemetery. No visitation will be observed.
