Erickson Sr., 83, of 79 E. Virginia Blvd., died at 11:06 a.m. Friday (Nov. 9, 2001) in WCA Hospital. An area resident most of his life, he was born March 22, 1918, in
Antrim, Pa., the son of Carl and Agnes
Larson Erickson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine
Corps serving during World War II in the 6th
Marine Division in China and Japan. Before his retirement in 1972, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator working for the local operating engineers union for many years. He was a member of the John W. Tiffany Post 53 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Association of Retired
Persons. He is survived by a son, Lance M. Erickson of
Templeton, Calif.; six grandchildren:

Scarry, both of
Deerfield Beach, Fla., Todd L. Erickson of
Montrose,
Calif., Lisa K. Tibbetts of
Paso Robles,
Calif., Aaron S. Erickson of Orcott,
Calif., and Heather L. Ealy of Auburn
Hills, Mich.; seven great-grandchildren; and Betty
Baron, his caregiver for many years. He was preceded in death by a son,
Conrad Erickson Jr., who died in 1970; a brother, Carl Erickson; and a sister, Evelyn
Weborg. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the
Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. John P. Ruggles, retired pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 113 E. Second St., Jamestown, N.Y., 14701; or to a charity of choice.
