SERENDIPITY: On pg 184 of the May-June 1987 issue of "The Genealogical Helper" magazine there appears a charming old photo of the Lester Van Horn Davis Family.

Lester Davis was born 02 Jan 1833, Carroll, Chatauqua Co, NY, died 19 July 1907, Lenora, Norton Co. KS. He married Avilla Parker, 11 Sept 1856 in Delavan, Walworth Co., WI. She was born 02 Feb 1836, Parkman, Geauga Co., OH, died 15 Dec 1907, Pomeroy, Garfield Co. WA. They moved to Fayette Co., IA in 1857 and to Norton Co, KS in 1878. Lester formed or ran a general store.

Their children were: Son Linn Adams, Maude Avilla, Lova Ella, Rosetta Almira, Carrie Belle. Four other sons died before three years of age.
