I am researching an Israel Dutton, who was born in New York state about 1826. I have a 1850 census record for him in living at Clymer, Chautauqua Co., New York with his wife Sarah (maiden name: Stanton), and 2 sons: Julius (b. about 1848) and Dewitt (the name looks like Dewitt, b. 1850.)

Is an Israel Dutton in the list of children or grand children of Moses Dutton (b. 1763), perhaps?

The Israel Dutton I am researching settled for a while in Pennsylvania (possibly Corry, Erie County, Penn.) and then moved on to settle at Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. One of his sons, Julius M. Dutton, returned to Corry, Erie Co., Penn. after his Civil War service, settled there and married. Another son, Mervil S. Dutton married a daughter of Waupaca Judge Caleb Smith Ogden, Alice J. Ogden, with whom he had a daughter, Elizabeth Dutton (b. 6 Oct 1879, Waupaca, Waupaca Co., Wis.) I am a direct descendant of Judge Caleb Smith Ogden.
