Thanks again for those of you that helped with Magnolia Cemetery and checking to see if Walter Miller was buried there. I know that Walter Miller was in the navy and may have served in World War I. Does anyone know of a listing of burials of those who servied in the armed forces from Chautauqua County?

Thanks

Found this on Ancestry.com - don’t know if this is your Walter or not –

The june 2, 1931 issue of the Dunkirk Observer mentions a utility pole crashing killing one man, Walter Cardot, and seriously injuring a secon, Walter Miller, age 42, of Jamestown.

The next day’s issue states that Walter Miller, age 36, of Harding Heights, Jamestown later died of his injuries. It mentions he was survived by a wife and five children. He was a lineman for the Niagara, Lockport, and Ontario Power Company.

The 1930 census lists two Walter Miller’s – Walter and Blanche in Jamestown and another Walter in nearby Ellery. Can't tell from the discrepancy in ages, which one this is. No obituary mentioned – would likely be in the Jamestown paper.

The Walter Miller that I am looking for was married to Blanche. The 1930 census shows them in Jamestown. They had a daughter named Margaret. Walter did not pass away in 1931, but according to family members died in the early 1970's. He and Blanche do not show up in the City Directories for Jamestown, so I assume that he lived outside the City, although family members remember him living in Jamestown. Walter was Catholic, but he is not buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jamestown. He and Blanche also do not show up in the social security death index. Any thought on what to check?
