Seeking to share and exchange information with others interested in the John Morton family living in Great Valley, Cattaraugus County, New York in 1850. John Morton was born about 1805 in Scotland. In 1850 he is living with Sally b. abt 1824 (later identified as his wife) and children Hugh, Peter, John, Robert, Gavin, James, and Jane. Hugh, age 70 and Agnes, age 73, are also living with this family. I am most interested in son Gavin, and would like to prove that the links I have made are correct. I believe Gavin moved to Waseca Valley, Minnesota and was enumerated in the 1870 census there. However, I am also interested in the collateral lines, since the information might help in my research.
