Surnames: Van Campen
Major Moses VanCampen settled in Almond in 1796. He and his two brothers, Samuel and Benjamin, came from Pennsylvania. Benjamin VanCampen was the father of John VanCampen of Almond and and George VanCampen of Olean. This information is on P. 159 in Hist of Allegany Co. 1806-1879 by F. W. Beers.

There were many VanCampens in the town of Amity (BElmont is the county seat.)
