I'm trying to locate information on my Great Great Grandmother Margaret.. who married Michael O'Brien (sometime during the mid to late 1870's) who was raised in Birdsall. The two had three boys.. Frank, Frederick and Edward who they raised in then Hornellsville. Margaret was an Irish immigrant (born 1842) and little is know about her prior to marriage.

Sadly Margaret died tragically on Nov. 8, 1891 of her injuries involving an accident with a train. She went out late one Saturday night looking for her eldest boy who'd stayed out after midnight and lost her life.

The existing death record with the City Clerk in Hornell claims her maiden name was Hendon. But, as with many Irish, this may have been a mistranslation of her original surname. Some believe it may have been Havernon.. Heffernan.. even Handrahan.

I do not know where Margaret & Michael were married nor can I find any trace of records of her family prior or after.
