Beginning in the early 1880's you were required to file for an application for a marriage license. The Albany Hall of Records has a micro-film index of marriages that were filed and copies of the original record.
Make a list of the couples names by date of marriage. The more exact the date the easier it is to find the couple. There are multiple microfilm reels by dates. Some have the index and the original records on the same reel, some have an index reel and then the reel for the copy of the original record.
The very early 1880's many still be hit and miss. By the mid to late 1880's more records were recorded.
The folks there are great, more than happy to show you how to search the records.
Depending on the time frame the name of the couple is noted, the parents names, place where they lived, the name of the witnesses to the marriage and the name of the clergyman that performed the marriage.
Once you find the marriage record you can research the person who officiated the record on the City Directories, or the census record to figure out the location of the church etc....
