Well, it's been a long time since you posted this. Yes, Synthia Jeffrey Brickey was supposed to be cherokee....but not sure how much. There is some information on the internet about the Jeffrey family....but it doesn't say they are cherokee that I recall. So far, the parents of Synthia Jeffrey Brickey's husband, who was JARRETT (on census records it is always Jarrett-not James) anyway, Jarrett Brickey has never been linked to the main branch of Brickey's yet........by PROOF.....lots of speculation as to who his father was.....but no one has actually found the proof. One thing we do know is that this Jarrett Brickey/Synthia Jeffrey did NOT marry to a Lydia Vicars as many records show. Lydia Vicars husband was JAMES BRICKEY....not Jarrett and James died in 1833-34 in Ky. Co., Va, and left a will at that time.. Probated in 1834...
Hope you have had some success since you wrote this.
Some others researching Jarrett/Synthia are: Wilda Eades Wideman, Kurt Gronner, Rebecca Buss, Neal Riley, Sharon Sukkenink (not sure that is spelled right) Milton Chandler, Marion Hilton....lost touch with most of them tho.....
