I looked for him in Ancestry and familysearch.org and findagrave.com and the New Mexico Death Index but didn't find him.

Have you contacted the Grant County Clerk's Office, grandcountynm.com/grant_county_nminfo.php?CID=372 and asked them to search for his death certificate?

Also the Silver City Museum, silvercitymuseum.org/research.html has collected regional history information. They do do research for other parties. Successful Searching!
