Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, GUADALUPE “LUPE” QUIROGA NIETO, age 85, lifelong resident of Chamberino passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice with her loving family at her bedside. She was born December 30, 1931 to Ramon and Florencia Medina Quiroga. “Lupe”, as she was fondly known to family and friends was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Manny Nieto (Teresa) of Chamberino and Luis Nieto (Ruby) of Anthony; three daughters, Bertha Ochoa (Ray) of Albuquerque, Nancy N. Segura (Efrain Acosta) of Del Cerro and Terry Najera of La Mesa; three brothers, Ramiro Quiroga (Esther), Ruben Quiroga (Irene), and Raul Quiroga all of Chamberino; three sisters, Rosie Gonzalez of Las Cruces, Josie Quiroga of Doña Ana and Mary Lou Acosta (Joe) of El Paso, TX. Other survivors include ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francisco H. Nieto on September 29, 2004; two sisters, Ponciaña and Flora; two brothers, Rudy and Reymundo.

Visitation for Mrs. Nieto will begin at 6 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at San Luis Rey Catholic Church 204 S. San Luis Avenue in Chamberino where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in the same church with the Reverend Robert Villegas, C.S.C., Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Chamberino Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.

Serving as casket bearers will be Luis and Manny Nieto, Karina and Aidee Najera, Fernie Pedraza, Jacob and Greg Terrones. Honorary bearer will be Ruben Quiroga.
