JESUS JOSE “JJ” “CHUCHAN” “PELON” LUJAN, age 89, of Mesquite entered eternal life on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home. He was born April 3, 1928 in Mesilla to Jesus Jose and Maria Martinez Lujan. “JJ”, “CHUCHAN” or “PELON” as he was fondly known to his family and friend was a well-known Mesilla Valley farmer and member of the Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Juanita Valles Lujan of Mesquite; three sons, Roberto R. Lujan (Carmen) of Vado, Jesse Lujan of Mesquite, David Lujan of Las Cruces; two daughters, Dolores L. Franco (Robert) of Austin, TX and Olga Lujan of Mesquite; four sisters,, Lilia Martinez, Jovita Madrid and Mercy Smith all of Las Cruces, and Rosa Archuleta of Mesilla. Other survivors include eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe and Roque Lujan; two sisters, Rosalia Carrillo and Betina Varela.
At Mr. Lujan’s request cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Palacios Bar, 2600 Avenida de Mesilla. Please RSVP to David Lujan at (575) 640-2623.
