Mary Ann Connor Brenegan a native of Watertown, WI and long-time resident of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
May was born in Watertown on February 27, 1937 to Lydia Ponath and Leslie J. Connor. She was the little sister to William (Bill) J. Connor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill and daughter, Mary Ellen Brenegan. Mary is survived by her son, Michael Brenegan of East Haven, CT, a daughter, Maureen Swenson (Bill) of Madison, WI, a niece, Mary Kay Petrie (Tom) of Watertown, a great niece and nephew, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her care for the past 11 years was lovingly given by Tanya Arguelles who was like another daughter to Mary.
Mary was employed for 20 years as Executive Secretary at the Department of the Army at White Sands Missile Range working for physicists, mathematicians and analysts. She was a 50+ year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary recently at the young are of 80, learned how to navigate a tablet, email and Facebook. She enjoyed receiving pictures and anecdotes about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Arrangements are pending for an interment service at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Watertown, WI.
