These are the records currently available at the state archives.

Birth Records – 1848 to 1923
Delayed Birth Records – 1848 to 1890 by name
Stillbirth records – 1878 to 1903
Marriage records – 1848 to 1943
Brides index – 1901 – 1945
Death records – 1848 to 1955

There are many other types of records.

The rules are no bags, no drinks, no food, and no pens. They provide lockers for stuff you cannot take into the research area. You can take papers, pencils, cameras, and computers into the research area. The staff is very helpful and will help you get started. The only food available in the archives is from soda and snack vending machines. There are limited nearby restaurants. I usually take a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I recommend making a list of all the things you want to look for. Having a family group sheet for each family you want to research can also help. The archives have two computers with internet access if you find the need to use Ancestry, Familysearch, or other online sites.

This database has links to online indexes of records at the archives.
