1810-1840

Jacob Hildebrand and Frances Husselton were born in New Jersey, I believe. Their first child, William T. Hildebrand was born in Warren Co, New Jersey, on 26 June 1837. I am looking for both Jacob and Frances' birthplace and exact dates as well as any relatives of either.
They were in Pleasant Township, Knox, Ohio by Dec.1840.

Have you found any more info on the parents of Jacob Hildebrand or Frances Husselton? I have her father as Henry Husselton and her mother as Hulda Buffenton, but nothing more on those two, or Jacob's parents.

Sorry, I guess I do have some information on Jacob Hildebrand's parents that was emailed to me, showing 4 generations beginning in 1704. I'll be glad to forward it to you.

I guess I'd have to say word of mouth. My aunt did research on the family in the 60's and 70's. This is a quote from her page of sources:

"Several grandchildren of Frances Hildebrand (Viva Cox, Jacob Cook, and Frances Huffman) said at various times that her father was Henry Husselton and that she had a brother named John......."

I only started on genealogy recently, and don't know if this has ever been verified.

Sometimes that's all we have to go on --- someone's recollection. Sometimes that's all you need to be pointed in the right direction. Believe me, that's info that many people would pay dearly for. IMHO, I'd say go with it and see what comes up. Good luck --- Rich in NH
