Nathaniel and Samuel Kimber, Stillwater, Sussex, NJ 1800-1840

Looking for anyone who can expand on my research into the Kimber families living in Brady Township (Twp) and Schoolcraft Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan from 1842-1900.
Nathaniel and Samuel Kimber came from Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey to Kalamazoo County, Michigan about 1835-1840. They may have accompanied the Joseph Henry Schoonover family from Stillwater since they are known to have migrated to Comstock, Kalamazoo County, Michigan about 1835-1837.
1830 Census in Stillwater, Sussex County, NJ shows Head of House (HOH) as Joseph with five children. Joseph and his wife are age 30-40. Two girls, one under 5, one under 10. Three boys, one under 5, one under 10, and one under 15. Only Head Of House (HOH) is named on 1830 census but children's ages correspond with ages recorded in the Schoonover Family Bible (SFB). 1840 New Jersey Census does not show this man which is an indication that he moved on to Comstock, Michigan about 1835-1837 as our Schoonover records show. Joseph Schoonover's wife has been confirmed as Elizabeth (Erwine) Schoonover.
Nathaniel Kimber, age 60-69, is recorded in the 1830 Census in Stillwater Township, Sussex County, New Jersey with one son, age 10-14, another son age 20-29, and a daughter age 20-29 (Name unknown). It is believed that these sons are Nathaniel Kimber (1819-?) who married Rebecca Schoonover on 7 May 1842 in Comstock, Kalamazoo County, Michigan and Samuel Kimber (1807-9 Feb 1890) who married Susan Jane Schoonover on 24 Oct 1858 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. These were 2 Kimber brothers born in New Jersey (probably Stillwater Township) marrying 2 Schoonover sisters also born in Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey. All brothers and sisters migrated to Comstock, Kalamazoo County, Michigan from New Jersey.
Samuel Kimber born about 1807 in New Jersey married Susan Jane Schoonover on 24 October 1858 in Brady Twp. They had 3 children: Maria (1860), Derius (1862) and Sarah (1865) Kimber and also adopted a child named Clayton Randall (1875).
Nathaniel Kimber born about 1819 in New Jersey married Rebecca Schoonover on 7 May 1842 in Comstock, Brady Twp, MI. They had 2 children: Juliette (1843) and Samuel N. (1857) Kimber.
T. W. Kimber was associated with laying out the plat for Schoolcraft Twp in the 1880's along with Nathaniel. TOWNSHIP OF Schoolcraft
(Source: History of Kalamazoo County, Michigan; Durant, Samuel W., 1880)
Village Plat and Additions
It is said that John Vickers at one time caused a village plat to be made here, and gave it the name of Vicksburg, but no record was ever made of it, and the statement is not authenticated. However, lots were sold to various parties, and the owners, when a survey was finally made and recorded, became nominally proprietors. The original plat of the village of Brady - Hugh Finlay proprietor - was acknowledged Sept. 17, 1849, the following additional names appearing on the acknowledgment: Bradley S. Williams, Nathaniel J. Kimber, T. W. Kimber, Samuel Hawkins, Jabez G. Rice (by John J. Rice, attorney). This portion of the village is located on the southeast quarter of Section 13, town 4 south, range 11 west.
I believe that the first Samuel and Nathaniel Kimber were brothers. The relationship of T W. Kimber is unknown. The parentage of all are unknown. The Schoonover women were sisters from Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey.
I have documented the Schoonover families, however, still need to find details on all of these Kimber families.
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide, Bob Schoonover, Email: schoony@comcast.net

Betsy Dunn was to have accompanied Mary Black from PA to Muskingum County, Ohio sometime before 1837 when she married Noah Swank in Muskingum County.
Seek where Jehila A. (Hamler) (Fullerton) Anderson is buried, bur. 1900 - 1905

Although she was born, raised and bore her only son Aaron F. Fullington (b. 1849) in New Jersey, my G-Aunt Jehila A. (Hamler) (Fullerton)Anderson lived the last 30 years of her life in Monroe County, PA. I just found where her 2nd husband, James Anderson, is buried in Monroe Co., PA, and Jehila is not anywhere to be seen in death records in Monroe County. This makes me think that she might be buried where her family came from, either Sussex,Warren, Morris Counties, New Jersey. She died 1900 - 1905. She died previous to husband James but was listed in the Smithfield twp, Monroe Co, PA Census of 1900.

The Hamlers-- Jehila's maiden name-- were very longterm residents in New Jersey starting in 1718.

Jehila (occasionally mispelled as Gehila)was born in NJ in 1830. I have record of the place where her parents, the Hamlers, are buried and several of her 9 siblings are buried: Tranquility Methodist Cemetery, Tranquility Cemetery, Newton Cemetery and Spruce Grove Cemetery, Coosbaugh Twp, all Sussex Co, NJ.

According to her brother James Edward Hamler's Pension record, he died in East Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PA; but all of the other siblings lived and died Sussex County, NJ with occasional residences in Warren Co, NJ and Morris Co., NJ.

I would appreciate any help or logic to figure out why Jehila Anderson is not buried with her son and family in Monroe County, PA (they are buried at St. Paul's Cemetery, Paradise twp., Monroe Co., PA) and where she might be buried in Sussex Co., NJ.

Many thanks,
Kathleen Hamler Purchase
LPurch6636@aol.com

Hello Randy, and thank you for your offer!

I'm researching the Cass?dy families of Sussex County. The spelling can be Cassedy, Cassidy, Cassady and several other variations. I usually have my best luck when searching by looking for anything that begins with 'Cass'.

Two other names of interest are Stull (or Stoll) and Bellis.

Thanks!

Rick

Hi Randy,
I am seeking information on Jasper Snook from Sussex Co. NJ, probably born around 1790.

I believe he married Sarah Main in Sussex Co. on 20-Dec 1823, although the record I found had spelled his name as Casper. There is another Casper Snook in that area at that time, but he was already married in 1823 so I am guessing that it is just a mis-spell.

Any info you might have about Jasper Snook, Casper Snook, or Sarah Main would be most appreciated.
-- jme
