Hello all,
I'm trying to find out what unit/militia my Revolutionary War ancestor served in so that I can get his record from NARA. His name was Thomas Hamlin born 1729 and died 1810 in Greenwich, Sussex Co., (now a part of Warren Co.). According to a book on the burial places of Revolutionary War veterans he was a Major and he also appears in an index of tax ratables for 1773-4 for Sussex. Other than that I have not been able to find anything else on him. There doesn't seem to be any mention of his service on his tombstone either. Thanks.
