William Cole died at his home, 23 Bennet street, at 10:00 Saturday of old age and gangrene, aged ninety-two years.
The deceased was born in Montague township, August 6, 1814, and was the son of Thomas and Susan Haynes Cole. He lived in Montague for about fifty years and then moved to Greenville, NY. In 1871, he came to Tri-States, where he has since resided. He was a farmer by occupation and was a member of the Methodist church of this village.
About seventy years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Westbrook, of Montague, who died several years ago. He is survived by the following children: Mrs Elizabeth Retalic, Mrs Catherine Carmna, Mrs Harriet Ferguson and Mrs. A. T. Perry, of Port Jervis; Mrs Charlotte Kimble. of Newark; Mrs Emily Smith and Benjamin Cole, of Collinsville, Conn. and Thomas Cole, of Dumont.
The funeral was held at the house at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, interment in the Laurel Grove cemetery.
