"Burden Hill"

I am looking for information on two burials in Burden Hill. I am not sure if this is an actual cemetary name or just a location. Apparently an old burial ground, untended from what I am told. I am looking for gravestone inscriptions for the following:

Joshua Douglass and wife Alice Cuff Douglass that I am told are buried there.

If anyone is aware or in the vecinity of this cemetary any help would be appreciated. I am not in the area so I can't just go look.

Thanks
Trish

Burden Hill is the name of an area on New Jersey State Route 49, in Quinton Township. There is a dirt road near Haven Church (which is in the area known as Burden Hill) that leads to a place called Berry's Chapel. It was once a chapel and cemetery. It has not been used in a very long time. At one time it was untended, but a group of people were trying to fix it up. I am not sure of its present condition.

My cousin just returned from that area. He told me that there is a dirt road that leads to the cemetery, but at both ends of the road are "Private Road" and "No trespassing" signs. So he did go beyond those signs. And there was no information as to who to ask for permission.

I was in the area today and also noticed a no trespassing sign. I will ask around and try to find out who can give permission to go back there, (if anyone) and post a reply if I find out.

That would be great. I understand from the Salem Hist Society that some local group has taken an interest in fixing up the cemetary but they didn't know who. I am sure that someone must have a record of burials.

Surnames: Cuff, Douglass
Do you have dates for either Joshua or Alice Cuff Douglass? Alice, d/o Wm Cuff is on a list of those buried there.

Do you know how Joshua was related to Wm A Douglass (Wife Nancy Valentine) buried there in 1933? I've looked up the death certs of a few known to be buried there but can only do this with known death dates.

The cemetery you refer to is Berry's Chapel. There were two worship structures there in the woods. The current congregation is now on Rt. 49.
