Hi. I'm looking for researchers of any of the listed surname variants. I am gathering info on this family and trying to connect various lines. I'd appreciate any information you would care to share. I have a large database on my own Van Eman line which moved to Maryland and then to Washington and Lawrence County PA. I believe this line was connected to the family in Salem County, But have not yet made the connection. I also have some info on the New Jersey lines. Will gladly search my database and exchange info.

My ancestor, Mary Vaneman was born in Millville, NJ in 1783 and died in Lancaster, PA in 1854. She married Isaac Cramer, who was born in Millville on Jan 10, 1785. They married on September 7 1807. Mary was the daughter of John Vaneman, who we believe came from Wales, and Elizabeth Maslander or Moslander.
I would appreciate any info you haev on the New Jersey Vanemans.

Vannemans of New Jersey

My great-great grandmother was Anna T. Vanneman. She was born in Swedesboro in 1848. She married Cassius Wright. He died in 1892 from a tragic railroad accident. They had 3-4 children, one being Carrie Wright (1888-1954). Anna's parents were John Vanneman and Katherine (Kitty) Woodruff . Katherine was born 22 December 1816 and possibly died in 1902. I don't know about John. Anna had 3 siblings, 2 who died in early childhood- Elizabeth (1843-1854), Timothy( 1845-1849), and Joseph (1853-1874). This information was found in a bible that has been passed down through the generations. This line of Vannemans lived in Swedesboro, Gloucester County. Hope this is helpful.

My name is Paul Krueger, about 2 years ago I purchased a house in Port Deposit,
Maryland. Port Deposit is located in Cecil County. This house was built in 1810 by a John Vanneman. My wife and I are
working to restore the 200 year old house. In addition, I've been trying to research the Vanneman
family. I have some information on this Vanneman family and willing to share. Do you have
any information that could relate your research to the John Vanneman family from Port
Deposit, Maryland

I am attempting to find information on Etta Vanaman. This is kind of a backward request, as I believe she was born in New Jersey and moved to Pa. I have little information on her, but she did marry Alfred Smith Coleman. He was born in 1878 and died in Waynesboro Pa in 1952. He was a textile worker. Any information on either person would be appreciated.

I too am working on line of Isaac Cramer and Mary Vaneman. I am descended from their son, Luke, who died in Lancaster. As for the Vanemans, Mary was apparently the daughter of Luke or Lucas Vaneman and Elizabeth Moslander. Vaneman is apparently a contraction from earlier spellings, such as van Immen or van Neman. One compilation suggests Luke is the son of Samuel (II) (Samuel (I), Garret van Immen, Jan Garretson van Immen). Whereas, Elizabeth was the daughter of Abraham (William). These families were not Welsh, but were either Dutch or Swedish - among some of the earliest families in NJ. A source that I am just beginning to investigate is "The Records of the Swedish Lutheran Churches at Raccoon and Penns Neck (1713 - 1786)". Baptismal records for Vanemans (van Neuman) appear in these records from 1713, and the Moslanders may too. I have begun to work on other maternal lines connected to the Cramers, too.
