In looking for deeds that mention my Robert Peterson, I like to share the deed to my fellow researchers. Most of the deeds are from the Auburn/Oldman's Creek area.

This Indenture made the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seven, between John CHRISTOPHER of Upper Penns Neck in the County of Salem and State of New Jersey Ship Carpenter and Elizabeth his wife of the one part, and Henry GUEST of the same place aforesaid cordwainer of the other part. Whereas Jonathan SIMKINS late of Upper Penns Neck as, was seized in fee simple of and in two hundred acres of land and marsh, situated in Oldmans Creek, in Upper Penns Neck aforesaid and being thus thereof sized made his last will and testament in writing whereby he did give and devise the aforesaid land and marsh unto two of his sons, namely Jonathan SIMKINS and Robert SIMKINS of the said Robert SIMKINS died before the testator and no other will being made by the testator, therefore agreeably to the law of the said State in such case made and provided, the said Robert SIMKINS. ____ descended to his surviving brothers and sisters and the same being surveyed and division thereof made by consent of all the parties and quit claims made to each other dated the twenty third day of November, 1784 whereby there was allotted to Elizabeth SIMKINS now the wife of John CHRISTOPHER as of twenty two acres of the above said Robert SIMKINS share or part and there was allotted to Jonathan HOLMES and Mary his wife the said Mary being one of the sisters of twenty two acres of said Roberts share or part and the said Jonathan HOLMES and Mary his wife by their deed dated the seventh day of August Anno Domini 1786 did sell and convey the same to the said John CHRISTOPHER the party first named. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said John CHRISTOPHER and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of one hundred and thirteen dollars and seventy five cents have granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien enfee of release convey and confirm unto the said Henry GUEST two certain lots of said lands, the first in part of the said twenty two acres allotted to Elizabeth his wife as aforesaid, situated and bounded in the following manner, Beginning at a black oak stump in the line of said twenty two acres and in the middle of the main road leading from Scull Town to Lower Penns Neck of opposite to the Baptist meeting house, and runs first along the middle of said road north eighty nine degrees west three chains and eighty links to the line of Martha CURRY’s lot thence joining thereon south twenty nine degrees west fifteen chains and eighty five links to the line of Stace DECOW’s land late William MILLERS thence joining thereon south thirty two degrees east three chains and ninety five links to a corner in the line of Gideon SCULLS land thence along the same north twenty nine degrees east nineteen chains fifty links to the place of beginning containing five acres three quarters and twenty perch be the same more or less, the other lot is part of the said twenty two acres purchased of Jonathan HOLMES and wife and bounded as follows. Beginning in the middle of said road in the line of Martha CURRYS lot so called and runs first along the same north eighty nine degrees west three chains and eighty links to Robert PETERSON’s lot thence along the same south thirty degrees west eight chains and sixty links to Stace DECAWS land late William MILLER, thence joining thereon south thirty two degrees east three chains and eighty three links to the corner of Martha CURRYS lot thence joining thereon north twenty nine degrees east twelve chains and twenty links to the place of beginning containing three acres one quarter and thirty seven perch, Together with all and singular the woods, ways waters rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging the rents ____ and profits thereof and all and singular the estate rights and title of them the said John CHRISTOPHER and Elizabeth his wife of in and to the same. To have if to hold all and singular the above described two lots of land hereditaments and premises above granted or mentioned so to be with the appurtenances unto the said Henry GUEST to and for the use and behoof the said Henry GUEST his heirs and assigns forever always excepting that small part of the meeting house yeard and burying ground to the Baptist society which falls within the bounds of the first lost. In witness whereof the said John CHRISTOPHER and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

Salem County and personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of Salem John CHRISTOPHER and Elizabeth his wife the within named grantors and did acknowledge that they signed sealed and delivered the within instrument of _____ as their own act and deed to and for the use interests and purposes therein mentioned the within named Elizabeth being of full age and the contents therein being first made known to her separate and apart from her husband examined did acknowledge that she signed the same of her own voluntary free will and consent without any threats or compulsion of her said husbands, Taken and acknowledged before this 30th day of May 1807
