I'm looking for information on Gustave (Gustav) Kinner who lived in Paterson from at least 1882 to 1900. Gustave was a shoemaker and in January of 1886 he registered a patent for the "Pantaloon Protector" which was a device to raise the cuff of mens pants so they would not get muddy. I can't find anything on the Kinner family except for one entry in the 1900 census showing Gustave as a patient in the insane asylum in Morris Plains. His family seems to have disappeared. Can anyone help me find this family? Thank you.
