My grandfather's name was Paul (nmnoi) OKKER and I believe he was born in Paterson, NJ Sept. 15, 1915, he had 3 brothers, James ( believe born 5/6/14),Steve and Neal. Parents names, Jacob (could be Jakob, born in Holland, came
to US in 1880's, could have been only a child.) Mother, unsure. Thought it was Matilda GRENVIS, but have heard that she may have been a step-mother.My father, Paul Clarke Okker was born in Paterson, Dec. 22, 1939. Jacob had a brother also named Paul. His sons are Steve & Tunis, no other
info. My grandfather died in 1982 and my father in 1989. Seems like me and some of the Okker's from England and Holland are the only ones interested. The family splitting somewhere around 1600-1700 and moving to seperate parts of Holland. My grandfather mentioned that his father came from the Islands, I assume Zeeland, and that his grandfather was a sea captain. Some story of 7 sons and them all being sea captains. It is an extremely rare name, less than 375 in the world
