Thanks so much for the info. It sounds a lot like the Muni Archives in Manhattan. Since I have little interest in copies, just info, sounds like I might take one of the non-printer machines and be left alone.

NYC has the Italian genealogy group with its online index people use in advance of a trip (names, dates and certif numbers - very helpful.) Is there such an online index for NJ? It's a great short cut!
