Are there any marriage records for the name Puchinsky?

My uncle Nicholas Puchinsky married Stephanie Czarnecki who also was known as Eleanor Czarnecki. The time period would I believe be the mid to late 1930's. I have a photo of them at their wedding in front of this church. Thanks.

Richard

The info on 1895 is limited. No street address. 9th Ward Jersey City. Ages are given in groups only. No relationships. No occupation, etc. People are divided into "native born" and "foreign born" (German, Irish and other).

Age groups are

Jacob 20-60
Francis 20-60
Mary 5-20
Francis 5-20
Annie <5
Wandy (male) 5-20
Frank <5

You should be able to find this image. Go to card catalog. Enter 1895 new jersey census in title. That will take you to search screen.

Since I was not sure of spelling, I entered first name Jacob, last name *ski, Hudson County. You should find it from there.

There are probably city directories on Ancestry for Jersey City about this time. You should find street address there.

Sharon

If anyone who has access to the NJ 1895 census, I would greatly appreciate a lookup of:

Jacob Lenondoski who lived in Jersey City, Hudson County.
He immigrated from Germany. On the census would be his wife, Frances, also from Germany and probably a few of their children, Mary, Frances, Wanda, etc

(The spelling of the original name was Lewandowski but I have found a different spelling on each census report.)

Many thanks.

I don't know if anything important happened during those years, but something might have.

Thank you so much, this part of my tree isn't very well put together.

In 1926, the towns of West Hoboken and Union Hill merged to become Union City. They renamed many of the streets at this time as well. Weehawken Street, West Hoboken became 19th Street, Union City.

From this website...
http://www.capital.net/~mimjiler/gen/unioncity/streetname.ht...

He emigrated to Hudson NJ with his parents.
In the censuses 1870 - 1880 they lived in Hoboken, Hudson, NJ

Leopold is to see in the city directories 1891-1895 of Jersey City.

It seems that there was a death notice in the Hudson Observer on May 9 and May 10, 1905.

I would like to find out where he and his family is buried.

parents: Casimir and Juliana
siblings: Wilhelmine, Anna Marie(Mary), Charles, Catherine married Hagedorn, Gustave, Ottilie and Ida

thank you
badenroots@yahoo.com

Have you tried calling St Aedan's to ask about bap cert's?
I think LDS filmed the RC records for Jersy City, so check their website to see what film #, order it thru your local LDS & go thru the film. Since you know the approx date it should be easy.

I was born in 1944. I had a friend who got pregnant, unmarried & was sent to Catholic Charities in Newark Home for Unwed Mother's where she stayed until giving birth & giving up her baby. She was from old school Italian's, so was "sent to live with an Aunt " for awhile, like so many other girls of that era. It was a shame in that time frame that it was so looked down upon & thought to bring shame on the family so they send you away, made to give the baby up or what else are you going to do when you are a teen with no where else to live, no job stc. So the girls didn't have a choice.

In my own family my sister got pregnant & ran away from home with this guy. My parents were frantic for months. She called when she was pretty far along, he flew the coop & she came back home. My parents were grateful she was ok. My parents didn't care what others thought or said & my sister was never made to give her daughter up. She lived with us until my sister met & married & that person accepted my neice as his own. I had a friend whose mother wouldn't let her hang around with me because my sister had a baby & wasn't married. Like having a big "S" on your forehead. I'm just telling you this so you can understand how it was back then. So many girls "went to visit relatives for a few months", never to see their babies again. It was really sad looking back on it. I know my friend had a very hard time after giving up her baby, but she had no choice.
Altho the world was better then to some degree looking back, not so complicated, today it's much better with open adoptions & unwed mothers are not condemned.

There is a program on WE Network called Todd The Locator. He also has a website called Todd the Locator. Go there & read about him & maybe he can help you if you can't find the answers you need. They are looking for new stories according to their website. In NJ it is usually on 9PM Sat. last week it wasn't on so I don't know if the season ended or not, but I love the show.
My heart goes out to you.
Blessings & Merry Christmas.
Jeanine
NJ
Hi Bill, Thanks for your help. I did find the wife's name listed on the website for the Bayonne Genealogy Society. That's right. Died October and I just ordered the obit from the library. Thanks anyhow. You might be able to help with some other questions. I have a feeling that he came in 1899 probably through Ellis, so he's probably in NY City for the 1900 census. The first son is Edward b. 1901, found his WW1 Draft Card. If I can get a d.c. on him I can find out hopefully where he was born. Still working on that. Once I get the obit, I'll order a d.c. on Stanley/Stanislaus, Stanislaw. I appreciate you getting back to me. You have been a wonderful help. Happy Holidays.

Hi Bill, Thank you so much for checking on this. That was find. Well, I was on the wrong track. I couldn't place the siblings all in one house. I always suspected the name Mack was shortened because I knew the family was Polish. The correct family is Stanislau MACKIEWICZ ! I found then in the 1910, 1920 & 1930 census. Since you are able to find the most incredible things would you mind trying to find Stanislaus Mackiewicz in the 1900 census. The 1930 Census he is listed under wife Leocadia. Thank you.
Trying to locate more on an Augustae Mack. Found him in the 1930 Census, Hoboken, Hudson, NJ (Spelling of the first name is probably incorrect). He is listed with wife Eugenia and son Arthur age 18. Occ. ? steamship.
All I have on this family is from an obit. Believe this is his son - Stanley T. Mack b. 1909 - 1970, Stanley had a brother Arthur Mack, & Raymond Mack and two sisters. I have Raymond b. 1904 - 1971. I did find Raymond in the 1930 Census of Bayonee, wife Rose & children. Can't find a WWI Draft Card on Augustus anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for any help out there.
