Help with Brick Wall for John LAKE death certificate 1910-1920!!?

Classification: Query
Surnames: LAKE
I am trying to locate the death record of my 3rd great granduncle, John Lake, born ca. 1842. He lived in Jersey City, Hudson County on the 1880, 1900 and 1910 census with wife Catharine or Kate.

He does not appear on the 1920 census so I assume he died sometime between 1910 and 1920 (30?). The reasons for my interest is to ascertain the NAMES OF HIS PARENTS, or anything that would connect him with parents.

On the 1850, 1860 and 1870 census in the home of his father in Monmouth County he is listed as John Lake. As an adult in the Jersey City Hudson County 1880 census he is listed as John F Lake, in 1900 on the Jersey City census he is John LUKE (still with wife Catharine), and on 1910 Jersey City he is John A Lake (I have looked at the original and it looks like A but COULD be F) It is the same person, but I suppose these records were often written in haste.

We wish to verify that this Jersey City man is the same John Lake as on the earlier Monmouth County census records. Thus the need for some death record with parents names

Is there any hope for this project?

With best regards,

Neil
