We recently found a chart that mentions this connection, we had been searching for Mary's parents:

Mary CARLOCK b. 28 Sep 1800, NJ; d. 17 Dec 1897, Springfield, Clark Co, OH; m. 1 Feb 1820, Marshfield Smith STEELE; son of Josiah STEELE, Jr and Phoebe SMITH. Mary and Marshfield had a daughter, Elizabeth Anne "Lizzie" STEELE b. 5 May 1825, Livingston, Essex Co, NJ, who m. 27 May 1846, Springfield, OH, John Edixon WRIGHT, b. 11 Dec 1824, Livingston, NJ.

Mary was the daughter of:
Delphiat CARLOCK and Rachel DODD--no data on either of them.

Rachel's parents were:
Abel DODD b. 1750; d. 1821; m. Martha OSBORN b. 1742; d. 1820--no locations mentioned.

Abel's parents were:
John DODD b. 1711; d. 1785; m. Jemima HARRISON b. 1714; d. 1777.
