According to the 1850 Mortality Schedule, Stacy was 80 yrs [b 1768/9 NJ] when he died from Asthma Nov 1849. Where did you obtain info he was b 1776?
1793 there is a James and Stacy LITTLE, Gloucester Co NJ; in Cape May NJ by 1795. No b/dates, so don't know relationship. If Stacy didn't marry Sarah MC CARTY until 7-24-1798 it's possible one of these men may be his father, or possibly Stacy was m previously??? John listed below may also be father.
For research in this time frame, it's necessary to visit libraries, courthouses, etc for deeds/court records, via email, postal mail, microfilm etc.
I checked wills for Gloucester and Cape May.....no LITTLE probate records, but many records not early enough.
I didn't find any online history books that mention Stacy.
