Thank you for your reply & suggestion. In reviewing the available census data, there seem to be quite a few Brocks who lived in Strafford County, NH during the early 1800s (including John, Ezra, Nathaniel, Isaac, Stephan & James). The problem I am running into is trying to figure out which family my Asahel belonged to. The pre-1850 censuses just don't give me enough information to definitively rule anyone out!

I have Benjamin, b. Jan 13, 1725/26,(died June 22, 1790 in Ossipee, NH) son of Jacob and Mary Walton Rendall. He married Margaret Mordantt 1745 in New Castle. I show them as having 10 children, but don't have Fannie Walton listed. Their son, Benjamin Odger Randall was born Feb 7, 1747/48 in New Castle. I also have Jacob and Mary with another son, Daniel. This information is not yet confirmed
but would be most interested in further discussion and comparing notes. Thanks.

The book "Life and Invluence of the Rev. Benjamin Randall, Founder of the Free Baptist Denomination" by Rev. Frederick L. Wiley states that Joseph Randall(1642) and Hannah Macumber were the parents of Benjamin randall (1688) who married Mary Walton. Wentworth's Genealogy has his name as possibly James, and here I have seen it as Jacob. I am, I believe, descended from one of Mary Walton's brothers, George. I've yet been able to prove the connection, that is why I'm looking at cousins and friends to see if I can find a connection somewhere.

William Baker 1880-82 Divorce Record?

Anyone know exactly where I might find a divorce record in this time period? Strafford County courthouse was not helpful and couldn't tell me if they still had this time period or not.

I'm looking for a divorce between William and Cornelia Baker they lived in Middleton on the line of Wakefield/Unity during the 1880 census. He married someone else in Boston Dec 1882 so unless he was a biagmist (which is possible...)there should be a divorce. Cornelia didn't die until 1884.

Martha,Isaac Bickford and Sarah Jenness were the parents of Ira Bickford. I have only found Ira and also a Jonathan. I am seeking any info I can on Amanda Justina Bickford, born in 1855 in Rochester. She went to MN with her Aunt and Uncle Emery, Josephus Emery ,I think.

Seeking any information on William H. Ham b. ca 1853 New Hampshire d. ca 1910 New Hampshire. William married Margaret (last name unknown) who is said to have been from Ireland. He is listed in the 1900 Strafford County, NH census with wife and children: Mary, James, Francis, Catherine.

Son James married Blanche Drew b. 1891 NH. Blanche is the daughter of William Henry Drew and Emeline.

I am looking for information on my great-grandmother's 3 sisters. My great-grandmother was Alderilda (called Delia) Cayer (1891-1980) and she was married to Edouard (Edward) Beregeron (1886-1959).

Delia was born in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada and was baptized at Saint-Antoine.

Delia's parents were William (1861-1937) and Ludmille (1859-1933).

Information from their tombstones in St. Charles Cemetery, Dover, NH.

Mildred E Cayer 1896-1929 (married Fred A Myhr 1894-?)

I do not believe that Strafford County was ever a part of Maine. It does lie directly on the state border of NH and Maine.

I'm not certain this would qualify as "early". I think 'Charles Crockett' had a farm on 'Salmon Falls Road' in Somersworth 1850 - 1900 ish. He had three daughters and one son, I think.

Betty Kelly, daughter of Jeremiah Tebbets is mentioned in the Probate Records of Apr 21 1808 when the Land (124 1/2 Acres lying in Barrington and Madbury) was finally distributed. Betty sold her shares in 1808 to Samuel Ham and Ichabod Tebbets; brother-in-law's of Betty.

Note: Jeremy Tebbets had died intestate Bef. 29 Feb 1804, his estate was administered by Ichabod Tebbets, husband of Hannah, daughter of Jeremiah.

Who were Joseph Drew b. 1788-1792 parents?

He married 2 Apr 1812 Bethany Thompson, dau. of Robert Thompson and Hannah Berry. Bethany died before 1850. They had 5 children that I know of: Sarah, Gamaliel S., Hannah, Mary & Louisa who both died young. Ruth Ayer gives Joseph's birth as 20 May 1788 in Maine, but the censuses below show 1792 and 1790 in NH. Newfield Vital Records shows him as Joseph Drew 2nd on birth records of children. This could mean his father was Joseph or he is the 2nd Joseph in the area. Ayer suggests he was the son of Robert Drew of Loudon, or of Samuel Drew of Loudon. Or he could be son of a Madbury Drew.

Joseph Drew b. 1792 NH, is in 1850 census in October in Portland, ME living with his son Gamaliel, both are Coopers. 1860 census Joseph b. 1790 ME is also living with son Gamaliel.

But, same 1860 census dated October in Portland, shows Joseph Drew b 1792 ME and wife Sarah. He is also a Cooper by trade.

*Joseph Drew b abt 1786? prob. Cumberland, ME. son of Hezekiah Drew & Esther Ross - both in Phillipsburg, York ME census in 1810. Could this be him?

*Joseph Drew b abt 1801 b. Coxhall, ME 1st wife Abigail Smith 2nd Amelia Werden. His parents Elijah Drew & Elizabeth Holmes.[prob. not him]

The above are the Joseph Drews b. Maine, there are others b. NH near same age, some who lived in Maine:
*Joseph b. abt 1795 Gilmanton, son of Theophilus Drew.
*Joseph b abt 1798 NH, wife Rhoda b abt 1808 ME, in 1850 Berwick, ME census.
*Joseph b. ?, who inherited land in Madbury, per the will in 1804 of David Drew b. abt 1725 to his grandson Joseph Drew, with no father named.

Any suggestions, information, elimination of any of these, or corrections are welcome. Also posted to York, & Cumberland ME board.

MORINI am trying to find any information om Antoine VACHON and Emilie CUSTEAU.

All I know about them is that Antoine VACHON was born August 21, 1857, in Canada, died January 5, 1913, in Springvale, Maine and married Emilie Mary CUSTEAU, April 28, 1877, St. Mary Parish in Rochester, New Hampshire. He was th son of Etienne VACHON dit POMERLEAU and Helene GAGNE.

EMILIE MARY CUSTEAU was born about 1861, in Canada, died in Rochester, Stafford County, New Hampshire, on January 31, 1918. She was the daughter of Louis Custeau & Phoebe Josephine Morin.

If anyone has any other information or especially certificates of birth, death, etc. and would be willing to share, I would be willing to pay postage, etc. if price is fare.

They moved to WI abt 1850. He died in Shawano, WI 1868. I'm sure his middle name "Little" was his mothers maiden name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Went to NH State archives, found 3 William H. Ham that were born before 1900. I am pretty sure that one is the William that you were inquiring about, the other is his father and I am not sure who the other one is.

I'm looking for more information about Eric P. Curtis. I was told that he was born in Farmington, NH and he was buried there also. During his life, he lived in Haverhill, Mass.
