1. Nicholas
Hodge born 1653 was not the son of Thomas
Hodge of
England2. My line of
Hodge is not from Nicholas
Hodge born 1563.
3. my line of
Hodge is from Thomas
Hodge that married at the customs house 1776 in Newburyport,
Essex Co,
MA. He was a captain in the War of the Rebellion (Rev WAR). He had three children born at Newberryport Elizabeth, Abigale and William. Then he removed from there to Falmouth (now Portland,
Maine). Don't know when he remarried to wife Jane, but she took charge of rearing the step children and had two more - a dau Jane that married a Frothinham ? and a son. Jane buried Thomas
Hodge at Western Cemetary in 1798. After 1805 she returned to Newburyport, where Thomas's son William died 1810 and her daughter Jane marrieid. Don't know what happened to the step daughter Abigale, but the step daughter Elizabeth
Hodge married William
Harris a few days after their daugther Lilliam Elizabeth
Harris was born in Portland.
4. There is much confusion over the many SEABORNS.
The
Seaborn that married Nicholas
Hodge born 1619, was not adopted by Richard
Tucker, she was his daughter and she was born 1635 on the ship
GLOBE en route from
England to North
America. Richard
Tucker was married to Margaret
Reynolds dau of Col Nicholas
Reynolds and his wife
Dorthy. Margaret had a sister named
Seaborn Reynolds who had been born at sea.
5 Nicholas b 1619 and
Seaborn b 1635 had a son Charles that had Michael
Hodge born 1683 and a son Nicholas that was deeded lands from Seaborn's mother due to his descent from Richard
Tucker. Later Michael inherited lands from the Richard
Tucker estate as being the last representive of Richard
Tucker.
6. I hope this helps anyone who is researching NICHOLAS and
