Thanks, but I am looking for info about Carl Fredrick Warren Smith, not Charles Walter Franklin Smith. Charles was Carl's brother, born about a year & a half later. Both names listed on 1900 US Census.

If you check the" History of Bedford", Mary Mc Laughlin, mother of Roseanna, mentions William Ferson, of Goffstown, in her will.(He was her grandson) This identifies her daughter Roseanna as the wife of William Dole who's daughter Katherine married James Ferson.(William was their son) Bedford is just over the hill from Goffstown. My husband descends from William Ferson. I have been trying to find more information about the William, Thomas and Mary(? )Mc Dole. Mc Dole is a corruption of Mc Dowell. There is an immigration for a William Mc Dole in 1754. on Ancestry.com but I have not been able to read the original source. There are two sources who mention William Doles"s brother who "migrated to Vermont" but I have not found documentation. Please e-mail me at abc_jc@msn.com there is too much for a message board.

Looking for birth info for Carl Fredrick Warren Smith, son of Frederick B Smith & Susan R Pierce. Siblings all born in Wayland or Weston Massachusetts btwn. 1890-1910. 1900 census shows Carl's birth Nov. 1897, Mass. 1910 census shows birth 1898, Mass. 1918 draft registration says birth 8 Aug. 1897, Nashua New Hampshire. It appears that at least from some time after 1910 Carl started claiming he was born in New Hampshire, not Massachusetts. Have checked with New Hampshire vital records & no record of birth. Have searched online Massachusetts vital records, no record of birth. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Marie Antoinette Lavallee Major was married to Joseph Romeo Bellerose. Romeo's parents were Joseph Stanislas Bellerose and Pomella Emma Fournier. Romeo had 21 children. One, Sheldon, may still be living in Dricot, MA. I have the family back to the 1500s. If you are connected to the Bellerose family by marriage, which I think you are, I will send you the invite to the private tree if you send me your email address to henry456@metrocast.net You can probably provide some update on the Major family.

The connection to the bellerose famliy is antionette. I remenber as kid going to visit Clyde Belerose one of antionette sons. My name is Stephen Antonelli I am 52 yrs. old. ephren and lena died when my mother was around 13yrs. So I'm trying to get info on her side of the family. Are any of the antionettes kids still alive.

I need to the name of your Grandfather and Grandmother on your bellerose side to check further, some dates if possable and any other information you may have.
Hi: You're doing much better with the Flint family than I am with the Sam Bradfords. In the Fold # depositions for pension, there is no mention of a son named Augustus. There are depositions from two daughters.

I met with a DAR representative who looked over the material I've gathered and concurred that I need a "proof" of Augustus Bradford.

His name came from "The History of Acworth by Rev. Merrill, where he is listed as Capt Samuel Bradford's son. So far, no where else

Rosemarie Beedy

I recently found "Revolutionary War Pensions" on Fold3. It has Capt Samuel Bradford's letters and depositions of character, marriage ,veracity, etc. it then lists Mary Flint Bradfords's petions for pension after Capt Samuel Bradford death. It has depositons from other family and friends. There are around 100 pages that are downloadable.

I am an ancestor of Capt Samuel Bradford through his son Augustus.

Rosemarie Beedymamabd6@gmail.com

Hi,

I just posted an old newspaper ad run by a merchant named Joel CARTER of Nashua, NH, advertising a new shipment of the latest goods in his store. He carried cloth for dressmaking, groceries, hardware, domestic & imported goods.
This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of The The Nashua Gazette and Hillsborough County Advertiser newspaper (Nashua, NH) dated June 25, 1830, and you can see it online here:

http://theoldentimes.com/joelcarter06251830hillsnh.html

I hope it's helpful!

Barbara
http://theoldentimes.com/old_news_nh.html
http://theoldentimes.com/ads.html
http://theoldentimes.com

I want to make additional information about Clarence G. Zealor.sometime in the late 1930's Clarence was assigned in Corrigidor island in the Philippines under the Fifty Ninth Coast Artillery Fort Mills PI. He was married to Basilia Fiel a Filipina. Clarence and Basilia have 2 sons William Zealor born June 15, 1936 ad John Zealor born Nov.27 1938.when the American Forces in Corrigidor surrendered to the Japanese, Clarence was captured and was sent to a labor camp in Japan where eventually they were rescued by the US forces.after the war Clarence wanted Basilia together with her 2 sons to join him and live in America, but during that time Basilia could not leave her ailing mother behind in the Philippines. so for whatever reason they stopped communicating to each other.William, now a retired police officer lives in General Santos City in Southern Philippines. he has 10 children, 3 boys and 7 girls(Wade, Marie,Jayne,Winnie,Judith,William jr.Nancy,Waldy,Sandra,Zyra

I was born in the Grasmere Hospital(Hillsborough County)
Grasmere, NH June 16, 1930. My mother signed in as, Evelyn
Brown, born Montgomery, Alabama July 6, 1906. As a father
was not listed, in about Aug. 1930 there was an amended
birth certificate registered with NH wherein a father's
last name of, Goodman was entered. Also at that time, on
the births record at the hospital, my mother,s name,
Evelyn Brown, the Brown was crossed out and Goodman
substituted. Her maiden name however remained Brown.
I have been searching since 1980. Any ideas at all appreciated.

Baby Blanchette
Death Date (Original): 20 Feb 1937
Death Place: Goffstown, Hillsborough, New Hampshire
Gender: Male
Father: Henry Isaac Blanchette
Mother: Evelyn A. Holmes
Burial at Westlawn Cemetary in Goffstown,NH

Evelyn's birth listed on her marriage record is Boston,Mass., her father is from Bristol,England, her mother from Logan, Ontario, Canada. The marriage order was issued by the Judge of Probate.
The marriage is listed under both Isaac, and Henry Isaac.
More than likely because there was another Henry Blanchette in Goffstown who was about 15 years older.
During that time frame if there was more than one person in a town with the same name, the elder was SR while the younger was JR, even if they are not from the same family.
One of my gr-grandfather's was name Nathaniel, whose father & Uncle were also name Nathaniel. The gr-grandfather was known by a nickname and legally changed it, while the uncle & father were known as Jr and Sr.
Talk about confusion when doing research?

Hi Betty
In answer to your questions, yes I've seen all of the census records and I also have copy of Timothy Joslin's probate file...I've also checked in MA within Worcester County for any info on Timothy to no avail. I also hired a genealogist in MA and he could not find any birth or marriage record for Timothy and Mary Ann. I've also checked the familysearch.org and found nothing and finally I worte to NH and asked for a copy of birth or marriage records for Mary Ann and Timothy and found nothing.
Many individuals who have posted family trees for the Joslin/Lees family have Timothy as the son of William Joslin form Leominster/Hubbardston...I have a copy of Williams' will and he names his children in the will but no Timothy who if his son would have been his oldest/first son.
In some of my grandmother's paperwork there is a mention of aMary Cummings as tied to our Joslin roots but haven't uuncovered what that is.
I'm open to any suggestions.
Thank you
KIDDER in 1800's

Hello. I know it is the starting of winter, but I'd like to ask if anyone is going to be walking in cemeteries and graveyards could look for a stone for me. One would be for Wilder KIDDER and one for his younger brother, Joseph KIDDER, Jr.

They were 2 of 9 children of Joseph and Rebecca (CHAMBERLAIN) KIDDER, first of New Ipswich and then of Temple. The 3rd son was my ancestor, Calvin KIDDER (1765-1799). Wilder and his wife lived in Jaffrey for a while but they did not die there. No one can find out where they lived their last years. Since his wife was from NJ, they might have moved there. Joseph, Jr., is a mystery. No one knows whether it was he who was killed in Saratoga, NY, during the War, or whether it was his cousin, Joseph. One of them married in Temple, NH, and had children there. But, the Joseph in Temple seems to have "left town."

One part of the mystery is that I visited Temple 2-3 yrs. ago and Wilder KIDDER's name is on the monument. But not Joseph. If it was his brother, Joseph, Jr., who was killed in the War, I'm surprised Joseph's name isn't also on the monument. (Some believe it was the cousin, Joseph, who came back from Saratoga to marry in Temple. But, I'm not so sure of that.)

There is a KIDDER List and a Board, and I have posted a lot of information there for 10 yrs. Both about my line of KIDDER men and about other KIDDER families. And, there is a long-time KIDDER researcher, and he has a web site. And there is a "KIDDER book" from 1941 which the researcher hopes to publish an update to.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

(on Lists and Boards for 10 yrs.; now an Admin for 9 Lists and 3 Boards, including one for "New England Research" and two for "CAN-USA-Migration")

www.rootsweb.com

Re: New Ipswich or Temple Residents Who Left Town Around 1785 - Possible Traveling Companions of Calvin Kidder (who went to ME/NB border but was not Loyalist)

Hello. I know this discussion was 10 yrs. ago, but I'd like to mention that it was a group of families from New Boston, NH (?) that my Calvin KIDDER traveled with at Age 20. Someone has suggested that he might have followed a girlfriend's family. From memory, I think one of the families had the name, HITCHINGS (sp?), and he remained close to them for most of his time in New Brunswick.

(There is more information in the archives of the New Brunswick List.)

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

(on Lists and Boards for 10 yrs.; now an Admin for 9 Lists and 3 Boards, including one for "New England Research" and 2 for "CAN-USA-Migration")

Hi Ann,

I know this discussion was 10 yrs. ago, but on rereading about it, I noticed that I didn't mention that Joseph KIDDER's wife was Rebecca CHAMBERLAIN. Researchers have confused her research, but the correct information is available. They are both from Chelmsford, MA (and Westford, MA, which annexed off of Chelmsford).

Their first son was named Wilder KIDDER, and some researchers think that was Rebecca's surname, but it wasn't. The name came from her mother's story.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

(Just an FYI is that Wilder KIDDER was a "famous and animated Fifer in the Rev. War. He married in NJ and they lived in NH for a while. They never had children, so there were no descendants.)

(His brother, Joseph, Jr., is part of a mystery. No one knows whether it was him who was killed in the War in Saratoga, NY, or whether it was his cousin, Joseph KIDDER.)

(My Calvin KIDDER was killed in a boating accident one week after his only child was born. The son, "Calvin," started the branch of the family in Washington County, Maine.)

(It's their sisters which need more research.)

Hello. Just curious if you have searched www.familysearch.org lately. There is a lot more information there. Have you seen the 1850 census for Timothy's family in Greenfield?

Household Gender Age
Timothy Joslin M 53y
Mary A Joslin F 41y
Oscar Joslin M 20y
Henry Joslin M 16y
Otis Joslin M 13y
Isabella Joslin F 11y
Harriet Joslin F 8y
William P Joslin M 6y
Levi Joslin M 2y
.

..Could Oscar be Samuel Oscar JOSLIN? I've seen that situation in census records many times.

And the 1860 census for Greenfield has this:

Name: Saml O Joslin
Residence: , Hillsboro, New Hampshire
Ward: Greenfield
Age: 30 years
Estimated Birth Year: 1830
Birthplace: New Hampshire
Gender: Male

And, have you checked the 1820 census for NH for both surnames?

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

(on Lists and Boards for 10 yrs.; now an Admin for 9 Lists and 3 Boards, including "New England Research" Board)
