Could you provide information that gives the first name of Mr Hart as Harold. I've seen it listed as Harry, Henry and George as well.
The 1910 Census would indicate the last name as Hart but it also states that Verling and Elmos father was born in Connecticut and mother in California. Have you found this Mr Hart in the 1900 census. it would be an important fact.
