I was raised in Eureka and my father was foreman of the Ruby Hill Mine for several years. Ruby Hill closed down for a few decades and is now open again. The last time I was at the Museum in Eureka they had information on the mines of the area and had a growing vertical file of family histories. There are still Hicks families in the area as well.
