I do remember a
Farnsworth family in
Goldfield in the late 1940's and the 1950's. I believe the father was Clarence and they had sons, Clarence "
Boots" and younger son who, I believe had had polio. I think that was Robert. It seems to me that after we left
Goldfield that Robert was hit by a car and may have been killed. This would have been after 1956. I think the family may have moved shortly after that. They lived a couple of blocks down a hill and west of us. I went to school with "
Boots" and may have a picture somewhere.....maybe in my yearbook if not others. He was a couple of years older than me, but there were so few kids in
Goldfield at that time that we all ran around together. I went to 4th grade in
Goldfield and then Frosh and first half of my Soph year in Tonopah while living in
Goldfield. In between we always spent part of the summer and most holidays with our great grandparents in
Goldfield.
If the family with "
Boots" and Robert is the one you are looking for, let me know and I will see if I can unearth some pictures.
Also check out the
Reno newspapers. They are online now and
Goldfield news was always in them. You can type in a name and the internet site will search the papers for you.
