I would like to locate descendants of John Franklin GRIMES and his wife, Elmira E. "Myra" LYNN, who resided in Blue Hill, Webster, Nebraska. I am not a GRIMES, but I have done extensive research on Myra's LYNN family, and have much data to share about this family in the US and England. I have brought together a group of people who are researching the various branches of this LYNN family, and we would love to make contact with our GRIMES cousins from Myra's branch of the family. Following is the information that I have found about about this GRIMES family.....it was found in census records; marriage records of Will County, IL and Webster Co, NE; a history of Blue Hill, NE; the 1940 edition of Who's Who in NE; the CA death index and the Social Security Death Index; cemetery records of Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Adams, NE; and a conversation with Clara Louise KOEHLER PICARD, who is the grand-niece of Myra LYNN GRIMES (granddaughter of Myra's sister Louisa LYNN HOOVER).

John Franklin GRIMES settled in Blue Hill, Webster, NE in the 1870s, and owned a drug store. Edward "Ned" GRIMES followed in his father's footsteps, and after graduating from college, became a pharmacist and went into business with his father. He later moved to nearby Red Cloud, Webster, NE, and became a partner in a Rexall Drug Store there. According to Louise KOEHLER PICARD, John Herbert GRIMES worked in the oil fields of WY, before moving to southern CA, and working for an oil company there. Lloyd GRIMES, who never married, lived for many years with his widowed sister, Irma GRIMES UERLING, in Hastings, Adams, NE. After Lloyd's death, Irma moved to Kansas City, KS to be near her daughter, Dorothy, who was married and living in Kansas City (name of her husband is unknown). Irma's son, Frank UERLING, was a pilot in WW II, and was killed in Italy near the end of the war.
