CLOVERTON ITEMS

Mrs. and Mrs. C. W. Waechter of the Prairie Gem community and Mrs. and Mrs. Clarence Frahm and family were Sunday visitors at the home of Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Waechter and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Koons and Norman, and June Crouch of Blue Hill were present at a Sunday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Koons and daughter.

Mrs. Bessie M. Davis and Marvin drove to Red Cloud on Friday evening where they met Bernard, who came from Fairbury to spend the week-end with home folks. He returned on Sunday evening to resume work in the Endicott school. Mrs. and Mrs. Eldon Davis came from Kearney on Saturday and were also week-end visitors at the Davis home. They returned to Kearney Sunday evening.

Mrs. and Mrs. Wm Clatte called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Yost on Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Yost have both been quite ill with the flu, but are better at this time. Alene Clatte spent the week-end with home folks, returning to Inavale on Sunday afternoon.

Friends here were shocked to learn of the death of Mrs. Wm Lanphear at her home in Hastings on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lanphear were residents of our community for many years, being the owners of the NE 1/4 of Section 4 at that time. Funeral services were held in Hastings on Monday afternoon, and burial took place at the Plainview Cemetery. Neighbors and friends here extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Mrs. Earl J. Mattock was a guest at the home of Mrs. Verne Stout on Wednesday when the Harmony Friendship Club held their regular meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlichtman and Alice called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kranau on Sunday afternoon.
