Hello Rock County Listers:

My name is Matt Friend. I would like to introduce myself as the Rock County
NEGenWeb Project newest county coordinator. I have taken this task because
I had some short-lived connection in this county because of my Grandfather
during the 1920's. Nevertheless, I do not live in Rock County but can do
some census lookup if you desire that of me.

The Rock County NEGenWeb Project have moved to a new server, in light of
recent changes on the Rootsweb.com server that their mother company TGN
decided to add some Ancestry.com advertisements on our free genealogy
webpages. So the NEGenWeb Project have moved most all of their counties to
the USGenNet server to keep our genealogy information free for all who
desired to do their genealogy research. Please update your bookmarker to
http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ne/county/rock/index.html as the new URL for our
website.

I will continue to add more to the website, please come back often to see
what is newest information. If you have any Rock County connection and have
some information to add to our Rock County NEGenWeb Project website. Please
contact me off-list to see what you can offer for other researcher. Also, I

Hi Rock County Listers:

A new item was added to the Rock County NEGenWeb Project. It is the beginning of many booklets of "1917-1941 Rock County, Nebraska Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Licenses" which to have some valuable information for a genealogical researcher. The license has the license owner's name, age, weight, and where he lived in that year of issue.

Also, there are two women at the Rock County Historical Society and Rock County NEGenWeb Project - Lookup Volunteer, who would be happy to do any local lookup if you just ask them. These wonderful ladies are Bev Hopkins (bbeegle@huntel.net) and Sue Barnes (rhsb@nntc.net).
