On behalf of the Lied Pierce (Nebraska) Public Library Genealogy Help group we have not located any information on Mr. Allen's family. The following are from the local newspapers.

Pierce County Call; Pierce, Nebraska; May 25, 1900

The sad news of the death of Loyd Allen was received by Mrs. Hitchcock Monday morning. The card stated that Mr. Allen died last Thursday between Canada and Buffalo, his body being prepared and shipped to his home in Oswego. His untimely death seems all the more sad when it is known that at the time of his death he was but a few hours ride from his home he longed to see. The sympathy of this community will go out to the stricken wife and fatherless child.

Pierce County Leader; Pierce, Nebraska; May 25, 1900

Pierce friends received word this week that Lloyd Allen died on Thursday of last week between Canada and Buffalo, N.Y., while on his way home. Mr. and Mrs. Allen left Pierce on Tuesday for Oswego, N.Y., the letter hoping to get her husband home before the final summons came.
