Osmond Sayings
Monday afternoon the news was received from Humphrey that Mrs. H. J. Billerbeck had suddenly died. She and her husband were visiting their daughter, Mrs. Henry Herbes at that point. Mr. Billerbeck had been to Omaha last week, and came to Humphrey sick with a severe attack of grippe, through which Mrs. Billerbeck nursed him, only to take down sick herself and speedily succumb to the disease. Mrs. Billerbeck’s remains will be shipped to Osmond, where she will be buried from the Catholic church on Friday, about 10 a.m. All business places will close in respect for the deceased.
Deceased is an old resident of Pierce county, having lived at Pierce several years, and in Osmond since the first year the town was started. Her death is a great loss to the community, and a terrible one to Mr. Billerbeck in his now weak state. She leaves also six boys at this place, and her two daughters, Mrs. H. Herbes, of Humphrey, and her daughter, Minnie, who was married two months ago. Her rest in the future world is secure. May this fact be a comfort to the sorrowing husband and children, and may the angel of pity look down upon and comfort them.
