A Sad Death
William Henry Christoph Buckendahl, son of Wm. Buckendahl, Sr., passed away Monday morning at his father's home east of town. The young man had only been ill six weeks, the cause of his early demise being quick consumption, this insidious disease also causing his mother's death some five years ago. Deceased was born in this county on Dec. 15, 1883, and lacked but a few months of reaching his majority. He was a young man of good habits, industrious disposition and had arrived at that age where he would have been of great assistance to the bereaved father, who is his great loss has the sympathy and condolence of the entire community. Funeral services were held in the Lutheran church at Pierce by the pastor, Rev. Scheips, Wednesday afternoon, a large concourse of relatives and friends being preseint. Nearly one hundred teams followed the remains to the new cemetery east of town, which was dedicated to the dead before the casket was tenderly lowered to its last resting place.
