Genoa Indian School

I am searching for info on the Geneoa Indian School which my grandfather, Arthur O'Daniels B. 1880, attended, with his brothers. I need to know if there are records of this school and the children who attended there.
Also am needing info on Ft. Robinson, Ne. when it was a German POW camp. My father, Thomas O'Daniels, was a guard there during this time. My father recently passed on so would like info on this time in his life.

My name is Linda Jayne Winters. I'm trying to get ahold of Bob (Robert) Christy, son of Ralph Henry Christy and Marvel Warden. He is my half uncle. My mother, Ruth Ada Christy, was his half sister. He came to live with us for a short time while he was in high school. We lived in Rosamond, Ca. at the time. He went to Lancanster High School then. We used to be pretty close, but the last time we talked was before I moved away from my long time home in San Jose, Ca. and I've moved three times since then so we have lost tract of each other. Edward was supervisor of a flour mill that exploded circa 1910 and then ran a bakery restraunt in Genoa. Minne operated a photo studio from home under the name "Mrs. Christy" with that name embossed on mats of her work.

Does anyone have access to obits for 1926-1929? I have no idea when this person died or where he is buried. But I am trying to find info on Joseph W. Myers, harness maker. He supposedly was struck by lightning and only identified by his ring. He was married to Vernie Scarlett and they had 4 children.

I am in search of the death record, or burial info, on Aggy Ceder. I find her only once in the census living with her son Jacob. She came to the US in 1884, though I doubt she filed any papers. All conventional resources have been searched (that I know of), so I'm hoping someone out there has come across her. If anyone has any info, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks! Megan

Stouter family of Cottonwood

Mary Elizabeth Stouter married Isaac Bressler.
One record shows that she was born circa 1861 in Donaldson, Schuylkill, PA. A second record shows her DOB as 20 Jun 1866 in Lancaster, PA and DOD as 1923.
One marriage record shows the couple married circa 1900 in Schuylkill Co, PA and another in 1904 in Baltimore, MD.
Isaac died 12 Feb 1925 .

I did locate a Mary Stouter with her family in Cottonwood, Nance, NE in 1880:

Hi Audrey, I ran across your Ancestry posting and saw that you responded to another member on an Ebba Modeen. I have an Ebba Anderson whose mother was Christina (Modeen) Anderson. This Ebba also had a brother named Milton J Anderson. The family lived in Hennepin County, MN. I am guessing your Ebba is not the same as mine but thought I would check.

Hi June! I have the date and place of death for a John Hampton, son of James and Ellinor Bradfield Hampton, born 6 Apr 1816 in Mecca Township, Trumbull, Ohio. (I think he's the same John Hampton as the one listed in the 1900 census you referenced.)
John Hampton died 20 Dec 1906 in Fullerton, Nance, Nebraska. Unfortunately, I don't know his place of burial nor do I have a copy of his obituary. He was a brother of Mary Hampton, born 28 Jan 1814 in Beaver County, Ohio, who is my gggrandmother. I do have a copy of Mary's obituary which mentions that her brother John Hampton was living in Fullerton, Nebraska at the time of Mary's death on 31 Mar 1904.

Yes, you are correct this is the right John Hampton. I had found his place of burial which is the Fullerton cemetery and the dates are the same as what you have. I didn't have his parent's name so that is a nice addition. I am working this line for a friend and John's marriage to Weighty (Reynolds) Elithrope Wellman was the line I was most interested in. Weighty is also buried in the Fullerton cemetey. She was born 6 Sep 1816 in NY and died 2 June 1887 in Fullerton, Nance Co. NE. I know that John was married before and after he married Weighty. Cynthia Ann Watson Elliott (1868-1943)

I am looking for information about my great aunt, Cynthia Ann Watson Elliott. She was born in Kansas in 1868. She married William David Elliott in 1885 in Simpson, Mitchell County, Kansas. Shortly after they left for Nebraska.

Between 1896 and 1897 Cynthia's parents, Francis Marion Watson and Sarah Ann Freemyer Maupin Watson live in Nance County, Nebraska. Did Cynthia and William live in Nance County then?

According to some information I received Cynthia died June 10, 1943 in Wolbach, Greely County, NE. She is buried next to her husband in Glenwood Cemetery, Palmer, NE. He passed away March 5, 1932. I am lucky enough to have a picture of the cemetery. There is a son buried next to them, what was his name? Did they have other children?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was finally able to find that Mrs. Edward Dayton LEWIS, whose maiden name was Bernice "Maude" BAILEY, had two children with Edward Dayton LEWIS: Addie Vearl LEWIS and Ermadell LEWIS. Bernice "Maude" (BAILEY) LEWIS later lived in California and married two more times to Fred FAULKNER and James VIDAL. When she died 20 Jul 1969 in Loma Linda, San Bernardino, CA her name was Bernice M. VIDAL. Her husband Edward Dayton LEWIS was born 3 Nov 1867 in Canton twp, Fulton co, ILL and he died 23 or 25 Sep 1943 in Loma Linda, San Bernardino, CA.

My information is based on an Aunt who lived with Statyia Belle Beightel and her husband Aaron LeRoy Johnson.

William J. VanLeer in the 1900 census is listed as a traveling salesman. Married to Amanda.
William J. in the 1920 census listed as a jeweler (store) with 4 children.
William had siblings: Albert L., Adie, Robert H., Mertie, Maggie, and Claudius.
This family came to Nebraska between 1870-1880. They are listed in the Ind. census of 1870, but listed in Ne. census of 1880.
Maggie m. Henry Nelson date unknown
Mertie m. Stephen Arrants date unknown
One more child was born Worrel VAnLeer.
Any information valuable as the VanLeer's in Indiana have lost track of this family and I am trying to fill in the blanks. Thanks you

I am looking for information on William Clarence Steele, born 23 Feb 1854 in Manitowoc WI and his wife Anna, born December 1867 in Illinois. They were married about 1894 and their son Clarence was born in Kansas in 1895. In the 1900 census they were settled in Genoa, Nance County, Nebraska. I can find them both listed in the 1910 and 1920 census in Genoa. Clarence is listed as a widower in 1930 again in Genoa. I am searching on information on their death dates and where they are buried. Loma Linda, CA is a Seventh Day Adventist community with a major hospital that has been existence since at least the 1930's. Patients can be from anywhere in the "Inland Empire" (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties - plus). Do you know the place of residence or place of burial? Obits for the county usually appeared in the "San Bernardino Sun" - See county website on CAGenWeb - might be a lookup person listed. Otherwise, send donation and SASE to the S.B. Library with your request.

I am looking for any information on the family of Nora D. BRIGHTON of Fullerton, Nance County, Nebraska. Her parents were Charles P. BRIGHTON and Rhoda A. LAKIN.

Nora married my gggrandfather on 8 Mary 1904 in Fullerton, William Warner BROWN. He was born in Ohio, and served for the Union in the Civil War, settling back with his parents in Nebraska for a short time.

We know that by 1906, he had moved to Orting, Pierce County, Washington by himself - where he settled for good and married again.

Any information on the Brighton family would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am looking for information on my great-great grandfather, Michael C. (Mack) Fitzgerald's parents. His wife was Clara, they had six daughters; Mabel (Mae) Smith Workman was my great-grandmother. Some census records say Mack was born in New York, some say Ireland. I am interested in any information that might give me a starting point in finding Mack's parents.
The other daughters were: Nellie Fitzgerald Crawford, Estella Fitzgerald Jennings, Ethel Fitzgerald Pepper, Edith Fitzgerald Minor, and Ina Fitzgerald Sidders.

In the Nance County archives on-line are two references to the surname Vanderwalker. The first is the 1880 census, H. L. Vanderwalker (56) and his wife, C. M. (44). Living with them are five daughters; Addie, Amanda, Cora, Nettie and Mary. The second reference is to an O. Vanderwalker, who is listed with the farmers of Fullerton, Nance County by the Union Pacific Railroad.

Marriage record of Joseph BARO (BORO) & Catharina nee CZUBA

My grandparents, Stanislaus GALUS and Martha nee KUDRON (KUDROń), were both from the Village of Leki Gorne (Łęki Górne), situated between Pilzno and Tarnow in southeast Poland. Through LDS microfilmed church records, I have tracked my KUDRONs and my SZTORC / STORC lines to the Villages of Zajaczkowice (Zajączkowice), Lipiny, and Kozia Wola, all of the Pilzno Parish. In the process of extracting all records that reference the surnames of KUDRON and SZTORC, I came across the marriage record of a Jozef BARO and Catharina nee CZUBA in Zajaczkowice. Catharina's parents were Joannes (Jan) CZUBA and Marianna nee SZTORC. Jozef and Catharina immigrated to Nance County, Nebraska, in the early 1800s, and they are buried in the Ss. Peter and Paul cemetery in Krakow, Nance County.

I have a strong suspicion that Marianna SZTORC is my first cousin twice removed, but I am still working on making a solid connection to my SZTORC family.
