Hattie Swanson and Charles R. Meacham 1898 marriage information

I am looking for information on Hattie Swanson and her 1st husband Charles R. Meacham. Hattie and Charles were married in Lincoln, NE 5 June 1898. Hattie's 1st child was Grace who was born before this marriage. Charles and Hattie had a son Edwin Meacham born 10 Feb 1899 and died Nov 1967. It would appear that Edwin was married 2 times: 1st to Edna Wheeler in Kansas City, MO in 1918 and 2nd to Betty Hinkle in 1922. I believe this family lived in the Havelock area.

I found these on the Lincoln Lancaster County Genealogical Society but they do not yet have all early records online. Any additional info, you will need to contact them.

No--- early marriage records are at the Nebraska State Historical Society. The library would not have any early vital records.

Important Notice: The Library/Archives Reference Room is CLOSED effective January 18, 2009.
Please call 402-471-4771 or email nshs.libarch@nebraska.gov

This is posted on their website so you will have to contact them by email and ask if someone can assist you.

Beginning January 17, 2009, the Nebraska State Historical Society's headquarters at 1500 R will be undergoing a two-year renovation project to bring life/safety and HVAC conditions up to current standards. Researchers planning to work with collections housed in the facility should take note that during 2009 and into 2010 the Reference Room IS CLOSED and that research materials are unavailable.

Please check the NSHS website often for updates on the closure of the Reference Room, or call (402)-471-4771 or email nshs.libarch@nebraska.gov for information.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, but we believe that the project will result in a safer environment for our staff, researchers, and the collections that we hold in trust for the citizens of Nebraska. We appreciate your patience as we invest in the long-term preservation of the historical materials that you use and value.

Historical Society Administrative Offices will remain open during the renovation.
