Seeking the surname Solomon in Aurora in 1943--surely someone knew them

Please check with your older reIatives. 1943 wasn't all that long ago. I can't seem to find the surname Solomon on the 1930 census index for Hamilton county , Ne. The surname Solomon doesn't show up in the Methodist church membership list either. (Flora Solomon's mother Susan Shuck was a member according to the 1943 obit.) The obit of Susan Shuck said that her daughter Flora Solomon lived there. Someone must still be alive in Aurora at this time that still remembers this family . Flora's husband was still alive in 1943 , but I don't know his first name. Flora F. Solomon died in La Habra ,Orange County, California on 11-21-1967(born 7-30-1892). Flora and her husband had no children listed on the mothers obit so they probably were childless. My thought is that Flora's husband died and she went to California to be with her mother's brother or his family. I am seeking Flora's husband's first name. I need it to find the correct 1930 census. There were Solomon's owning land in Hamilton county at some time.If you have any information please post your reply on this board. Of course I realize the spelling of the last name may vary so there could be a's in place of some of the o's.

Flora F. Solomon vs Flora F. Salmon

Thanks for your reply to my post. For a while I thought Flora F. Solomon could actually be Flora F. Salmon. However, I have been in touch with a member of the Salmon family who was originally from Hamilton county and they don't have a recollection of Flora. That means I am still seeking a Solomon in Hamilton county or someplace nearby. Of course not all people know all of their relatives but I think this person I was in contact would know.

Hi, I checked and there is no one by the surname of SOLOMON buried anywhere in Hamilton Co. I think you really are looking for the SALMON family. There is a lady who will look up marriage records in Hamilton Co (see: http://www.raogk.org/nebraska2.htm ). Why don't you have her check for a marriage record for your Flora

Thanks, I am looking several places

Thanks, for your reply. Jackie and the clerk has already looked for Flora's marriage in Hamilton co.
They found nothing that fits her. It may mean she was married elsewhere. She may have lived out of state and the obit just mentioned Hamilton co. because she was there taking care of her mother.
Another possibility ---her aunt Anna Berryman was in Knox county Ne. and there was a Solomon up there. They may all be on the 1930 census up there in Knox co. but some of it is unreadable. I can't even find the aunt on it. Thanks.

suggest nearby county

Sorry, after I posted I read further down thru the list and saw Jackie had already looked for a marriage record for you. If you don't find the info in Knox Co, you might try looking in the counties around Hamilton Co. It wouldn't be unusual for a couple to marry in an adjoining county--especially if they lived close to a county line.

Surnames: Urie, Shuck, Solomon
I have found Flora Shuck on the 1930 census in Peoria, Illinois. She is married to William Ernest Solomon. I don't know why that particular census was so hard to find. He is listed as Ernest W. Solomon on that census and the word Solomon is a little defficult to make out but it can be made out. She never showed up on the index but she is listed under his name. They both died in Orange County, CA.
This was a second marriage for him. He married Myrtle Belle Urie in Saline county, Missouri.

If you have any comments please post or email me.
