I am looking to get the death record for Patrick QUINN who died sometime in 1897 and is buried in Erina Cemetery. I'm especially interested to see if Patrick's parents are listed on his death record, but because of the date this may be problematic. The QUINN and MURPHY families came to Garfield County, NE, around 1874 from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and Patrick was likely born in Ireland. It is my understanding that in Nebraska if the death occurred prior to 1904 then one should try contacting the county where the death occurred, and records that are 50 years old or older may be accessed for genealogy purposes. Is anyone versed in acquiring pre-1904 death record for genealogy purposes from Garfield County? Would any newspaper have carried his 1897 death notice or obituary that I could access? Any helpful information would be welcome and appreciated. Best regards, Bill

I didn't know that there was a cemetery at Erina. My G grandmother died at Erina in 1895 and is buried in a Lutheran cemetery just over into Wheeler County.I do not have a obituary or any kind of a death notice for my Caroline Bandt. Any information on Erina would be appreciated. D E Cox demlcox@aol.com
