Seeking info re Bertha Ernestine Meyer, daughter of Gottlieb Meyer and Anna Marie Behnke born Bromberg, Posen, Prussia 21 Dec 1863. Married Max Von Manteuffel 21 Nov 1889 in Nebraska. Died 21 May 1933 at Oxford, Furnas Co, NE. Believe she was related to my Gr. Aunt Lena Berger Fabert (Mrs. Edward) who lived at Oxford, Marquette Co, WI.
Ed and Lena adopted two Manteuffel children whom I was always told were relatives of theirs. Lena's mother was Bertha Therese Meyer(or Meier) from Nakel, Posen. She emigrated in 1883 to WI. Trying to fit the pieces together.

My paternal grandmother (Amy Manteuffel) died in childbirth in 1917 and the baby (Herbert) was adopted by Faberts. The next youngest child (Amy) lived with Faberts much of the time but was not adopted by them. I had no idea that they were a relative of my grandparents. They lived in Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin. I was told that Lena helped my grandmother a lot and so when she died, Lena, who did not have children of her own, adopted the baby. There were eight other Manteuffel children.
