Our family is looking for the birth parents of our grandmother, a caucasion baby girl born Abt. 30 Mar 1921 (March 30, 1921) at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. A nun, potentially from the order known as the Poor Sisters of St. Francis Seraph *, whose help was significant and very highly thought of by those family members who witnessed the adoption. No birth certificate was issued at birth, and we do not know birth parent's names. Baby girl may have had a bad rash or significant sores (perhaps erythema toxicum or baby acne?) at adoption. May have been adopted at two weeks to a month old. Adoptive parents were Lawrence and Eva and their last name was either Smith or Overstreet at the time of the adoption. Heritage would include Irish. *The order has also been known as Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration.
