I just posted an old newspaper article mentioning that George MADDEN, a Civil War Veteran (Union), was near death.. This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of the Omaha Daily Bee (NE) newspaper dated January 25, 1889, and you can see it online here:
