I came across a message you wrote on the internet in April 2000 to K.B.Cook regarding the Mosher and Wilber families through Kitty Darlene Mosher Wilber. One of her sons, Stephen Wilber was my father-in-law. This connection is very exciting. Please feel free to contact us below. Last year I was able to visit the Hopeland Buda Cemetary in Buda IL where Kitty's parents and grandparents, etc are buried. I made gravestone rubbings and took lots of pictures. I have contact information on many of the relatives you mentioned in your posting.

Wayne (1949) & Sharalyn (Wilber, 1952) Curtis
849 Willow St.
Susanville, CA 96130
wcurtis549@frontiernet.net
530 257-5970

I did try Google, but thanks for the tip! I google everyone I research and try everything I can think of (george p. ewing; george ewing; ewing; george p.; ewing, george, etc.). I've found a few bits of info here and there about him, but nothing that has been really helpful in terms of where he is buried. I've got census records, military records... Google is definitely a great resource!

Looking to find a death date and burial place for George P. Ewing, as well as the names of his six children who predeceased him.

George was born to Matthew and Sarah Ewing in Trenton, Oneida County, NY on February 17, 1844. He enlisted in Co. G of the 108th NY Volunteer Infantry in 1862, and was mustered out in 1865. In 1879, George moved from Rochester, NY to Chappell, Nebraska. He married a widow, Anna Shove, who had two children named Maude and Louis Shove. George and Anna had six children together. Anna Shove Ewing died in Chappell, NE.

I found a possible match for George Ewing in the Chappell, NE 1910 federal census, although his birth month and birth year are off. Hoping someone can tell me his death date and place of burial. Thanks!

I found a listing for a Charley Anderson living in Chappell in this Business Gazetteer for Farmers in the 1890 edition. Looking for any other publication/document that might provide more information on this person. I have a "lost" relative with the name of Charley Anderson and his brother was living in Chappell and listed in the same Gazetteer. Still not sure if right guy. Where can I find original land grant information for homesteads in the area?

At least a part of my family (the A. J. Anderson Family) came to Duel County in about 1885 from York, Nebraska. There is a "lost" brother to A. J. Anderson, his name is "Charlie" or "Charly" -- but may have been a nickname or such. He was originally Carl August and probably changed his name at the time of immigration... I am not even sure he came to Duel County. Just wondering if anyone finds that name familiar! If so, please let me know.

He brought his two young sons, aged 9 and 5. He had corresponded with a Mrs. JACKS, the mother of his best friend J.D. JACKS, who died in WWI. She took care of my father and his brother while my gfather worked. They all moved to Hastings, Adams Co, NE shortly after as they are listed in the Hastings City Directory for 1920. I am searching for Mrs. JACKS in Deuel County, NE. Are there City Directories prior to 1920 which might list her?

Hello,

I am tracing the descendants of Christoph Schmidt (b. 1849, Iowa, d. 19??, Nebraska) and have traced one of his daughters, Sarah Louise Schmidt who married Frederick W. Krumm, to Swan Precinct, Deuel County, Nebraska circa 1920.
I believe Sarah passed away on about 7 July 1941 in Deuel County, and I believe that Fred Krumm passed away on about 30 May 1952 also in Deuel County.

They had at least two daughters, Opal (b. 1912?) and Pearl (b. 1914) who moved with them from Lancaster County to Deuel County. I am currently unable to find any traces of Opal or Pearl after about 1930 in Swan Precinct, Deuel County, NE.

If anyone has information to share I would be delighted. I have a considerable amount of information regarding their grandfather, Christoph, and his wife, Sophia. I have far more information on Chris' brothers (John, Fred, Henry, J.B., and Conrad Wolfgang) and sisters (Anna Barbara and Amelia) and their parents, Fred, Sr. and Anna Katherina and other descendants. (Plus a tiny bit of information on Fred Krumm's parents, Michael and Augusta (Golz) Krumm.

Thank you.

Jim Evande was my great grandmother. Nick my great grandfather. His first wife was Ada Stutzman and she passed during child birth of their thrid child along with the baby. The four of them are all buried at the menonite cemetary outside of Chappell Ne. The other lady told you about my aunt Beluah. They also had Bernice, my grandma, and Al. Lester (Jack) and Martha were raised by my great grandmother. Steele is my great grandmother Evande's maiden name. I am just starting and any info would help. I also have a bunch of pictures that I got when my g-grandma passed of both sides. E-mail is smkramer@custertel.net
Thanks Mary

Mabel 'Unknown' Lehn?

I am trying to find information on a woman named Mabel. I do not know her maiden name. She was born 1911 most likely in Wisconsin, possibly Washington County, WI. I also do not know her nationality or who her parents were. She married a man named Anton Lehn (b. 1902) They lived in Washington County, WI area. I believe at one point may have lived in West Bend, WI, or that area. Anton & Mabel had 7 or 8 children - 4 boys, 4 girls. They then divorced. Mabel may have remarried and had more children - (yikes!) I know I do not have much to go on here; if anyone can make some sense of this or piece something together I would be extremely appreciative. Thank you for taking the time to read this mess!

I am looking for Charles T. Root, brother of Anson Root and Uncle of Dr.Russell and Byron and Dora Root.  This group along with other Root relatives went to Big Springs after 1885.  Charles had a son John that appears in the 1920 census, he also had daughters Luella (Philip Christ), Martha (Dennis Pottenger, Lurinda (Frank Allen), Esther (David Foltz).  I am trying to find where Charles died and where he is buried.  Any help?  I have a lot of information the Root line going back to England.;
