I would like to exchange information on any of these Cuming County families. The original Cuming County settlers were John Reichlinger, William Stark, Lebrecht Schlect(along with 2 brothers),Anna Lieskowitz (sp?)Schlect, Daniel Flores, Edwin Frey, John Kerl and Caroline PfeifferSpillner Kerl.

I also have a good collection of stories as both of my Cuming County granparents were alive when I became interested in genealogy.

Frey - Flores

Regarding your inquiry about Cuming County ... my
ancestors settled in Northern Kansas/Southern Nebraska
in the late 1800s. My great-grandfather was named
John Lewis Kerl ... perhaps we are referring to the same
individual? I know Nemeha County (where my grandfather
was born) is quite a ways south of the Cuming area,
so perhaps not ... .

Hello~~
I am interested in the William Stark family that settled in Cuming Co., NE. I do know that he was first married to a Dorothea Sophia Degner and then to a Mrs. Henrietta Horn.
He and Henrietta came to Cuming Co. where he died of Typhoid fever shortly after. Henrietta had a son, Charles Horn from previous marriage.

William Stark was my great-great-great grandfather through his daughter Augustina. He was born in Pommerania and was a tailor. When his first wife, she went by Sophie, died he married her sister Henrietta. They came to America (I have the ship's record). They settled near Watertown, Wisconsin. His wives parents also settled in Wisconsin.

In 1863 they and a number of families traveled to Cuming County. He died of typhoid in 1869. She died many years later. They were buried in the West Point cemetery. I have a picture I'd be happy to send.

These are just the basics as I recall them. Please let me know what information you need and I'll be happy to get it to you. I'm interested
